I know a lot of you out there are wondering how I stay so fit.
It is simple really.
I just make sure that I get in a good stretch work out every day, in addition to my
cardio work out.
The
cardio part is just tearing around the house as fast as I can, and includes racing along the back of the couch and jumping over the back of the big easy chair.
Every few days I also
incorporate tree climbing. I'm up to four trees each session now. I always try to climb just a little higher each time too.
But stretching is key to staying limber. If you just do
cardio you won't be able to make the kinds of moves necessary to get the string when it is dangled and pulled by the feeder folk.
So...begin with a nice cross stretch with right paw over left.
Bend your tail in the same direction as your right paw.
Keep your head and ears up, following the direction of your stretch.
Next reverse the stretch. This time put your right paw over your left, and bend your tail to the left as well.
For an added work out, hold your paw up for a count of five.
Try looking to your right.
Now lay flat, and point your muzzle in one direction, and your tail in the other.
Stand and cross your legs, holding your paw up for a count of nine.
Or one count for each life you have left.
Finally work on your "S" shape.
Be sure to find a great backdrop for your work out too.
It is a mind/body connection thing.
If you look good, you will feel good.
After your work out, take some time to wash up, and then settle in for a nice nap.
Hopefully when you wake up the people will have tidied the litter box, and you can reward them by begging for a treat.
